Update: DNR Assumes Command of Bear Creek Fire

Belfair, WA: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has assumed command of the Bear Creek Fire near NE Elfendahl Pass Rd and NE Bear Creek Dewatto Rd. Effective immediately, DNR will oversee all firefighting operations.
In coordination with this transition, local resources, including those from North Mason Regional Fire Authority, Central Mason Fire & Rescue, Mason County Fire District 6, and West Mason Fire, are being released from the incident.

BRUSH FIRE INCIDENT ON NE ELFENDAHL PASS RD AND NE BEAR CREEK DEWATTO RD.

Belfair, WA: The North Mason Regional Fire Authority (NMRFA) is responding to a brush fire near the 8000 block of NE Elfendahl Pass Rd and Bear Creek Dewatto Rd. The fire has affected approximately 2.6 acres of land.
ELFENDAHL PASS RD IS CLOSED AT BEAR CREEK DEWATTO RD AND THE 7600 BLOCK OF ELFENDAHL PASS RD.
No evacuations have been ordered as the fire’s progression is moderate. The situation is being closely monitored, and firefighters are working diligently to contain and extinguish the fire.
Multiple agencies are actively engaged in the response efforts, including the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), alongside NMRFA, Central Mason Fire & Rescue, Mason County Fire District 6, and West Mason Fire. Additional resources deployed include one helitack crew and helicopter to support containment efforts. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
