The new apparatus bay at the Tahuya Fire Station recently opened its doors, following the completion of construction in July. The 3,800-square-foot facility includes a 400-square-foot mezzanine, as well as parking capable of accommodating a large fire truck, to prepare for the potential need for one in the future, as our community continues to grow. With the opening of the new apparatus bay, Phase 1 of the Tahuya Fire Station project is complete!
Remodeling the existing Fire Station 81 will be begin Phase 2 of the project. The remodeled building will provide offices, kitchen facilities and space for both station staff and volunteers. The timeline for Phase 2 will be established after construction of the new Headquarters Fire Station in Belfair as part of the Emergency Services Campus is underway. Staggering the timelines will allow the Fire Authority to devote full attention to each of these two very important projects.
